SOMETHING FRESH TODAY LORD
Do you ever feel like you have loss something or something is missing? You come to church and sing a few songs, hear some words, and leave but you still find that you are unsatisfied? I’m not knocking the church. The church is great, I just think that we desire more…..do you ever feel like you want more? Do you ever just get tired of the religious traditions, programs, and going through the same motions every week? Still empty on the inside, prayer life, reading your Bible less….you know what I’m talking about. We know that there’s something more in life, and we are searching for it. We spend our time, money, looking for these pieces. We search desperately to fill this void inside us. Are you hungry? Let me describe a juicy cooked steak, pizza, and when you are through you put the scraps in a trash bag. Question would any of you eat what’s in the trash bag? Even if you haven’t ate in days?This is leftover’s, why do we give our Jesus the left over’s when we come to church or in our daily walk? We fill our lives with work, games, toys, projects, and every other sort of things that serves no greater purpose than to fill our life with more stuff. I believe by now you are getting my point. Point # 2.Got your mind made up that the preacher is just upset, this doesn’t affect me, give him 30 minutes and he hush. I have the answer for us today…change, change, change me Jesus.John Wesley used to ask two questions of the young men whom he sent out to preach: “Has anyone been converted?” and “Did anyone get mad?” if the answer to both questions was “No,” he told them he did not think they were called to preach the gospel, and sent them back to their business. WHEN THE HOLY GHOST CONVI CTS OF SIN, PEOPLE ARE EITHER CONVERTED OR THEY DON’T LIKE IT.God is going to show us this morning that He is God. There are some Elisha’s here that will let the Holy Ghost use them and speak what He says just like Elisha did in 2 Kings 5:8-118 So it was, when Elisha the man of God heard that the king of Israel had torn his clothes, that he sent to the king, saying, “Why have you torn your clothes? Please let him come to me, and he shall know that there is a prophet in Israel.” 9 Then Naaman went with his horses and chariot, and he stood at the door of Elisha’s house. 10 And Elisha sent a messenger to him, saying, “Go and wash in the Jordan seven times, and your flesh shall be restored to you, and you shall be clean.” GO AND WASH: IS WHAT WE ARE GOING TO DO BY ASKING JESUS TO COVER US WITH HIS BLOOD AND FORGIVE US…LET THE POWER OF GOD COME ON US AND THROUGH US PRODUCING WORSHIP IN HEAVENLY ATMOSPHERE.As we sanctify ourselves for His services then there is change taking place in our voids that need to be satisfied. Here comes the boldness to let His power manifest it’s self in you. We are created to worship and serve God.You are probably saying that happen in the Old Testament….like all the other stories of David, Abraham, Elijah, etc. look in the New Testament with me Peter, James, John, Mary, Timothy.
Acts 9:1-6Then Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest 2 and asked letters from him to the synagogues of Damascus, so that if he found any who were of the Way, whether men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem. 3 As he journeyed he came near Damascus, and suddenly a light shone around him from heaven. MOSES UPON THE MOUNTAIN…HIS GLORY AROUND US! 4 Then he fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?” 5 And he said, “Who are You, Lord?”Then the Lord said, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. It is hard for you to kick against the goads.” 6 So he, trembling and astonished, said, “Lord, what do You want me to do?”Then the Lord said to him, “Arise and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.” How people use to dance, shout, praise, worship in the Holy Ghost…we can today as well as yetersday.
Acts 9:10-16Now there was a certain disciple at Damascus named Ananias; and to him the Lord said in a vision, “Ananias.”
And he said, “Here I am, Lord.”
11 So the Lord said to him, “Arise and go to the street called Straight, and inquire at the house of Judas for one called Saul of Tarsus, for behold, he is praying. 12 And in a vision he has seen a man named Ananias coming in and putting his hand on him, so that he might receive his sight.” 13 Then Ananias answered, “Lord, I have heard from many about this man, how much harm he has done to Your saints in Jerusalem. 14 And here he has authority from the chief priests to bind all who call on Your name.” 15 But the Lord said to him, “Go, for he is a chosen vessel of Mine to bear My name before Gentiles, kings, and the children of Israel. 16 For I will show him how many things he must suffer for My name’s sake.”
As the Holy Ghost (power of God) struck Paul down on the way to persecute them in the way, God can move here today. I’m asking you to turn loose of everything that is controlling you, everything that you are seeking to fill your void and let God fill that hunger. You can have more than scraps from the table if you will believe and let Him have his way, do you need a miracle today? PENETCOST IS REAL : Paul trembled and was astonished……now is the time for us to let God move in us. We will have the Holy Ghost (jerks), be slayed in the spirit, time to let God move.
We must chase after God again, learn to seek His presence in our lives. It is time we stopped settling for the crumbs and started looking for the feast that He has prepared for us. Must keep God as the focus for our lives, know God, not about Him,Today is the day to find out just how real Jesus is? Invite Him into your heart and receive His forgiveness. We see the times are saying that Jesus is coming soon. Jesus is the answer to today’s situations. Praise Him, Praise Him.
